About us

Community First (COFI) is an indigenous NGO registered under the Ugandan National Bureau for NGOs Act 2016 Section 45. It was founded in 2017 by Mr. Bruno Naho and Mrs. Judith Manano. We exist to serve the marginalized and vulnerable communities in Uganda. Our mission is to engage vulnerable and marginalized communities to establish their own needs and empower them to improve their lives.

We are an operational and advocacy-focused NGO, responding the global challenge of integration and resettlement. Our current community of engagement is the Somali Urban refugee community living within the Slums of Kisenyi Kampala. Our approach is a community-centered engagement through the collaborative participation of the community members as key stakeholders in the solutions to their challenges. Our interventions are intended to transform the community into thriving, self-sufficient groups- socially, economically, and psychosocially.
